Crash Bandicoot 4 Review

Crash Bandicoot 4 Review | It’s About Timing [2022]

Crash Bandicoot 4 is finally out for the Playstation 4 and it’s one heck of a ride. If you loved the first three games, then you will definitely enjoy this one as well. The graphics are better, the gameplay is more refined, and there are plenty of new features to keep you entertained. However, with great power comes great responsibility, and that’s where Crash Bandicoot 4 falls short.

The main issue with the game is that it’s just too short. You can beat it in under five hours, and there are only six levels to play. This makes the $40 price tag feel a bit excessive, especially when you consider that you can get much more bang for your buck from other games out there.

If you’re a diehard Crash fan, then you’ll probably still enjoy the game despite its length. But if you’re on the fence about it, then you might want to wait for a price drop before picking it up.

Crash Bandicoot 4 Game:

Crash Bandicoot is back and better than ever! Well, maybe not better but he’s definitely back. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was a remake of the first three games in the series and it was a roaring success! So much so that Activision has decided to give us a brand new game in the series, Crash Bandicoot™️

Now, I have to admit that I was never the biggest fan of the series. I played the first game when it came out on the original PlayStation and I thought it was okay. I never really got into it though and I’ve never played any of the other games in the series.

That said, I was really excited for the N. Sane Trilogy and I was not disappointed! It’s a great remake of the original games and it’s definitely worth playing if you’re a fan of platformers.

So, needless to say, I was pretty excited for Crash Bandicoot™️. And, I have to say, I was not disappointed! It’s a great game and it’s definitely worth playing if you’re a fan of platformers.

The controls are tight and the levels are well designed. The game is also pretty challenging, which is always a good thing in my opinion. And, of course, the graphics are top-notch.

Crash is Back With a Number:

Crash is back with a number four in his title, and this time he means business. The last three Crash games were all remasters of the original trilogy, but this is an all-new adventure.

And what an adventure it is. Crash Bandicoot four is easily the best platformer I’ve played in years, maybe even decades. It’s not just nostalgia talking here – this game is genuinely great.

Part of what makes it so good is the level design. Every level feels fresh, new and exciting, with plenty of ingenious traps and obstacles to overcome. There are also plenty of secrets to uncover, which should keep you busy for hours on end.

The controls are spot-on, and the visuals are gorgeous. The whole game has a very “cartoony” look to it, which suits the tone perfectly.

It’s also worth mentioning the soundtrack, which is excellent. Every level has its own catchy tune that will stay in your head long after you’ve finished playing.

In short, Crash Bandicoot four is a masterpiece, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re a fan of platformers, then you need to get your hands on this game.

The Good:

  • The graphics and colors are gorgeous and really pop.
  • It’s nice to have a fresh take on the franchise with new developer Toys for Bob at the helm.
  • The game is packed with content, including three different ways to play through the main campaign, time trials, and more.
  • There’s a healthy mix of old and new ideas, with plenty of nods to the franchise’s past.

The Bad:

  • The game is way too easy, even on the hardest difficulty setting.
  • Some of the new ideas, like the mask power-ups, feel superfluous.
  • The game lacks the charm and personality of the Naughty Dog-developed original trilogy.

Crash Bandicoot is back, and while it’s not perfect, fans of the franchise will find plenty to love. It’s just a shame that the game is so easy.

If you grew up playing Crash Bandicoot, then you’ll want to check out the latest entry in the series. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was a great callback to the original games, and Crash Bandicoot Returns continues that trend.

While it’s not perfect – it’s way too easy for one thing – there’s enough here to satisfy fans of the series. Just don’t go in expecting a challenge.
